Superschools
The Western Balkans School Exchange Scheme, a project co-financed by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the EU from 2021 to 2024 and implemented by GIZ and the Sarajevo-based Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), needed a fresh branding approach.
The project supported 100 school exchange projects in the Western Balkans, targeted primarily at primary and secondary school students, teachers, and parents/parent councils. The aim of the project was to expand the horizons of young people, which would contribute to the development of social capital and increase positive attitudes towards other ethnic groups in the region.
After initial research and establishing the name voted on by a large group of stakeholders, our approach was to create a flexible visual identity revolving around the idea of travel through passport stamps, badges, emblems, and stickers. It has a feel-good, optimistic, and dynamic atmosphere which can be immediately transferred to any communication context by giving it a Superschools stamp of approval.
