Morpharos

Morpharos, an architecture bureau from Stari Grad on the island Hvar, transforms old into new, using natural and contextual realities thus creating contemporary Mediterranean architecture. The visual identity we created for them is based on that relationship of found and designed, using forms from the natural context, purified and reinterpreted.

CLIENT

Stone as a foundational constructive material but also landscape element of the Mediterranean became the basis for the Morpharos key visuals. Stone as an archaic protoform is an inspiration for all new interpretations and interventions resulting in a specifically Hvarian, Mediterranean architecture.

The visuals are then augmented with layers of graphics evoking island natural elements so that the whole represents a collection of impressions – from fragrances and tastes, through tactile experiences, to manifested forms – which are sublimed into three basic geometric and constructive shapes. They are integrated into the logotype itself from which they can again be extracted in secondary applications.

The colour palette is also inspired by the Mediterranean, while the precise compositions, elegant margins, and contemporary typography complement the concept communicating trustworthiness, advanced technology and expertise.
